Jianzhong Jiao
Born July 11th, 1955, in Beijing, China, Jianzhong Jiao was a loving and supportive father and recent grandfather. He was a proud member of many communities and organizations.
He passed suddenly and unexpectedly on January 6th, 2026.
His loss is felt by many who knew and loved him.
His son, Alex, is using this page to provide information about planned events to memorialize and celebrate Jian’s life.

A Memorial and a Celebration
We are planning to hold two events to honor and remember the life of Jianzhong Jiao. .
Both events are being held in San Francisco, and are scheduled on April 5th, 2026, with the Memorial starting at 11AM and the Celebration starting at 3PM.
Both are open to all who knew Jian and all ages, and RSVPs are not required, but if you’d be willing to RSVP as a courtesy to us, it will help with ensuring we have enough seating and space for all attendees. Event details are below.

Celebration of Life

Jianzhong lived a meaningful, fulfilling life, and would have wanted his loved ones to celebrate his life in his honor. A little after the service, we will be hosting a celebration for Jianzhong at the Academy SF, located in the Castro. There will be drinks and snacks provided, and an opportunity to share cherished memories with each other.
Tribute Bench
In lieu of any permanent interment, Jianzhong opted to have his ashes scattered in the Pacific. As his physical form will continue his travels around his world, his family would like to dedicate a bench to him as a standing, physical representation of a wonderful person who enjoyed walks outside in San Francisco.
We have reserved a park bench in Golden Gate Park, with the exact location to be shared once the tribute program is restarted and the tribute finalized.
No contributions are expected or required, as we will ensure this tribute will be funded regardless. However, for those who wish and are able to offer a small token in Jianzhong’s memory, you may follow the link below to make a donation towards this bench. Any excess proceeds will be donated to one of the many organizations he volunteered with.
